Can't Rank for 1 keyphrase

I rank for some keywords and phrases, but can't for the life of me Rank for "belly dance costume, belly dancing costume, or belly dancer costume"

Why is that? I do have a pr2, and have onsite seo for those keywords on my homepage, but no matter what I do I can't rank for them. I also have tons of backlinks for belly dance costume.

Can someone please help or offer me their SEO services to come up for those keyphrase.

Hey everyone, this is my first day on the site and I've already found tons of useful information!!

I'm in the developmental stages of building my online store, but one problem I'm running into is how I would go about formulating a relationship with retail distributors. I'd like to sell brand name products on my site in the outdoor sporting goods category. My question is, how do I go about selling items from, The North Face, Columbia and Spyder?? just to name a few. I guess this question shows my inexperience in the retail sales world but that's ok, gotta learn somewhere.

Hi, I'm trying to do research for a college project, and I'm trying to research which inventory systems are most popular for small businesses:

I know of quickbooks, but what else exists out there as a popular option?

Are you machines connected to the internet?

It seems a lot of P.O.S. systems are running old versions of windows, or windows CE, do inventory systems follow this trend also? Are they running modern operating systems?

Any links to popular sites re: inventory would be appreciated, as well as if any magazines exist? Is there a "Inventory Quarterly"? ha..

Advice on ecommerce merchant services

I'll try to keep this short. We are just starting our online store and looking for advice. We are using an open source shopping cart that redirects our customers over to PayPal for SSL purchases. We just found out that PayPal wants $0.30 cents per transaction and then 2.9% of the purchase price after tax.

My question is: Is that normal? This seems a little outrageous to me. In my example we have purchases for $0.99 cents online ($1.07 after tax) and PayPal charges us $0.33 for that transaction/purchase.

What I'm wondering is if BOA has a merchant interface that we can directly link to from our website or API calls to enable secure online purchases. Does anyone have any experience in this area or know of anyone that may be able to help? We are willing to hire outside developers if necessary.

Also, we'd like to integrate this into our accounting software. I agree with the post I read about QB software. Since we are just starting, I believe we are going to the Peachtree method vs. QB as there are quirks in QB that doesn't seem to fit the business model we're used to. We've used QB in other businesses in the past.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Last July, a friend and I decided to make a shared dream of ours into a reality: having a video game news and review site.

After a slow start, the site has steadily grown in popularity. I've been hard at work promoting the site in whatever ways occur to me, but I've always been hesitant to spend much money on it. As it stands, after all, we have no way to recover those funds through the site. We recently got a tax ID number and approached a local bank to set up a business account, but were declined due to the "high risk" associate with online businesses. All we have planned right now is...

1) Setting up a Paypal button to receive occasional donations
2) Creating two or three T-shirt designs and screenprinting them ourselves, shipping them out as orders come in.

And even if both of those plans are overwhelming successes, (once we find a bank that will approve us) there are still a number of things that big-name gaming review sites have that we don't. Most notably advance copies of upcoming games, interviews with people in the industry who are practically unreachable for us, and paid advertisements.

What we're trying to prove is that enough gamers are fed up with the all-about-the-money attitude that all the big name sites (IGN, Gamespot, etc.) seem to have that a small site run by people who genuinely care for both the industry and its artistic development can be (at least moderately) successful.

So, what can we do? We're averaging 95 unique visitors per day this year so far, and while we're extremely happy with that, there have got to be cost-effective ways to improve our readership. I'm not opposed to spending money, but I want to see a return on whatever I invest. Can anyone help? Even vague advice would be better than nothing.

It is cheaper for a business to be selling products online, there doesn't have to be a cashier on the payroll for online sales. It is also convenient for consumers to shop on their own time without even leaving their office chair. These facts along with many other benefits is why ecommerce is really taking off for a lot of businesses and bringing in a larger profit.

Ecommerce sites can help your business, but is important to remember a few things when designing your ecommerce site so that it is effective and well-received. You will want to make sure that it is easy to navigate through. Most websites that utilize this online function have a shopping cart so the customer can collect things that he/she wants, see the running total, and pay for it all in the end.

You will also want to have some sort of security for customers and tell them that their information is protected from any online predators who may be searching for credit card information online. The last thing you want is to get a bad reputation because your customers are becoming victims of identity theft.

Don't be sneaky with additional charges that may apply to the ecommerce online service. Make sure that the running total of the customers' shopping cart includes the shipping total and taxes right there for them to see. You don't want them to abandon their shopping cart without making the purchases because of this.

Also remember the importance of appearance when it comes to selling products online. Just like business owners want to keep their stores neat and organized for their customers, the same goes for your online store. Make the pictures of your products look nice and professional and allow the information to be found easily and all the necessary information is right there for them.

Florida sales tax for web business

I am in Florida and I am in the process of setting up a web cart for
a new online business.

I have spoken with the Florida Dept of Revenue and they say that I
must collect sales tax for all sales to parties in Florida. Also, that
sales taxes vary county by county and this must be taken into account
for each such transaction.

I wonder how businesses are handling this in their online shopping carts?
One solution is to include in the drop down menu of US states (as a buyer
is indicating their address) to include the list of all Florida counties, e.g.,
FLORIDA-PASCO, FLORIDA-PINELLAS, FLORIDA-POLK, etc. and
calculate the sales tax based on the the tax rate for each county.
This would work but it is rather clunky and obviously makes for a very long
list of states in the drop down menu.

How are other people handling this? Is there a better way?

Also, some products I may sell are digital files that can be downloaded
from the web site and others are physical items--is there a difference in
taxation for these? Are downloadable products (like an e-book) taxed?
